Commuting - How far is your commute?

Sorry, this may have been discussed before, I am new to the site and was just wondering how many miles some of you commute to work? I get about 16miles one way.

my commute is 0km far from my house. the commute is 13-17km. :D

40 miles round trip

10 miles if I go the fun way. 6 if I take the not fun way. I always take the fun way.

My commute is 17.5 miles each way. Downhill in the morning and uphill in the afternoon.

15 miles each way

15.5 miles

Lots of good roads around so I can always add miles at the end of the day if I have time.

about 18.6 km one way (about 70% of your commute...) 16 one way is a EXCELLENT commute length, imho.

8.5 miles each way. Half through urban downtown. The other half on a dedicated bike trail (through woods and next to a lake).

My commute is 20 miles (32 km) each way. I've been commuting for about a month and currently take advantage of a train in the mornings, if I can. This takes my morning ride down to 13 miles (21 km).
I hope to ride both ways, all the way, soon. I can sleep in if I don't take the train.

6.1km each way.

My commute is 2 miles each way. However, I sometimes like to take the 30 mile scenic route home.

About 35 to 40 miles round trip depending on how badly my safety/hurry ratio is out of skew (shorter route is more dangerous but occasionally I need that extra 10 to 15 minutes).

3 miles, each way.

10.2 miles each way. 20.4 round trip. All but a bit completely rural.

Six miles round trip if I ride to the van pool. 60 miles round trip if I go the distance.

The 60 miles is more fun, but I gotta get up much earlier.

13 miles round trip. 11 rural along the Missouri River. 2 Miles in town to get to my office. I agree with Chris L, its not nearly long enough this time of year. When its 5F and snowing, I would wager to say its WAY TO LONG on some of those types of days. :eek:

Around 245 miles round trip

27km round trip for me...

about 4 miles each way. Urban riding with striped bike lanes, mostly.
More uphills and headwinds on the way home, though.

Late Fridays or Saturdays, I stop for a Guinness on the way home.

Mine is a 36 mile round trip.

20 miles roundtrip

4 miles one-way. Two or three times a week I'll combine it with a 25 mile training ride before work.

8 miles each way.

looking for ways to stretch it out. wish i could wake up at 5 or 6am to go on a ride before work.

"Not far enough" translates to 25km round trip.

about 15km each way, through suburbs.

32 miles one way. I'm planning on doing this on average 3 times a week. I've tested the route and at the times I commute it seems pretty safe.

I either ride to work and get a lift home in Winter, or get a lift to work and ride home in Summer. It is between 38km and 45km one way.

Mine is either 23 or 25 miles round trip depending on which rout I choose. The 23 mile route is a bit shorter but hillier.

20 miles roundtrip, urban, industrial park and suburban, hills both ways (I am always gaining and losing altitude).

25 -28 miles each way. I don't mind riding to work, just tired after work and don't want to cycle that far when I'd rather be in bed.

0.4 mile (s) just down the street. Most days this is a good excuse for a scenic tour---I stretch it to 5 miles.
