Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Can anyone recommend a good bike shop to get an estimate of damages to a bike resulting from an accident? It is a carbon frame, Dura-Ace components, Easton Wheelset (if any of that matters?). I need an estimate to give to the driver's insurance company. Need to make sure that the frame is structurally sound and damaged components are replaced.

I recommend B&L Bikes in Solana Beach. If you haven't taken pictures, do so now. Once you have them uploaded into your PC, describe each damage that resulted from your accident. Component-wise, you should be able tell if the damage was previous or as a result of the accident. Frame-wise, if carbon, do your inspection first - look for any hairline cracks, paint splitting etc. If you point these areas out, it will help out whomever will be inspecting your bike. Also have them look inspect the steerer tube of the fork. Was the impact on the front wheel, rear or side?
