I have a strida 3.2 with metal spoked hubs. I broke some spokes on the rear wheel.
I was thinking of replacing the stock 16" rims with 18" rims. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will it work with the fenders? Any unforeseen consequences?

The fenders have to go .. no room for the stock units, might be able to cob something if you needed to .. for the rear, I've got a Transit bag that would block spray... the big plus is they come with Schwalbe Kojak tires, which are a very fast tire.. your gear inches will also go up to 60 due to diameter change... I love the 18" wheels (which come with new disc rotors and freewheel), single best upgrade for my Chinese Strida.. I ride it almost every day and have had no problems with the wheels.. :thumb: :thumb:

Check out the freewheel system, maybe you can't change wheels from a Strida 5. I guess that the dealer should be able to find out.
I mean, as long as I can remember, the optional metal wheels for the Strida 3 are not the same as the ones on the Strida 5. And I think that it was related to the drum brakes or the freewheel.
Maybe you can get an 18" wheel with disk brake on your bike BUT how are you going to fit the calipers on a Strida 3?

It won't work, you'll need custom work:
