Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - SE Draft Frame

I found a good deal on a complete bike with a se draft frame and fork for around 350. Comes with velocity wheels and rpm cranks basically no SE parts. I was just wondering how good these frames are and if they can handle daily riding to and from school. Thanks.

Bike Gallery, a big LBS chain around here, recently began selling a fixie branded under their own name based on the SE Draft Lite. I don't know if that means that BG is making official the fact that it's becoming Performance Bike or if it's a commentary on the decency of the frame. The SE Draft used to come with the oversized one-piece bottom bracket, which in my mind eliminated it from serious consideration for anything but a cheap beater bike, but it looks like they've now switched to a standard BB. So now it can be a cheap beater bike that you can hang nicer parts on if you want to.

That said, I've got an old Gitane with a hi-ten frame that I converted. It came in around 23 pounds, and it's a lot of fun to ride. It will never make me the envy of my friends and neighbors, but I like it and it doesn't feel like a tank.

for 350 you're probably better off with a kilo tt or some used iro or something like that for a bit more

Even though they changed out everything, it's still the hi-ten frame. Keep searching.

I rode the **** out of mine, then got a kilo and realized that the Draft is like a beach cruiser.
If you already have one, ride it... If you are about to spend $300/$400, go to bikesdirect and get a decent ride!
