Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Felt TK2 vs Fuji Track Pro

Considering buying either bike. Anyone got any opinions on which is better? Using for riding in city.

are you set on one of these two bikes? They are both pretty strict track bikes, I might consider something more versatile for city riding.

The Felt is what i'm leaning towards. And I realize that but these are two of my favorites.

They're both going to suck on the street. I ride about 50 miles on mine every time I time trial (on clinchers even (yo dawg i heard you like time trials so we put a timer in your...)) and I hate it. Jarring is putting it very slightly compared to my Look or even my Van Dessel (which is also Aluminum/carbon forked) Granted once I'm out of the city and the roads get slightly better, the ride improves, but not much.

Be aware that these bicycles have very thin aluminum tubing that will dent easily when banged around by homeless crack addicts, your handlebars, street posts, a lock, etc. Stiff, yes, but very fragile. I had my downtube dimpled slightly by a stupid pinch bike rack mount on a car.

But hey, whatever it's your money.

The roads i ride on are really smooth. What makes it suck? And im aware of that.

i've owned both of these (08 ftp and 07 tk2) and preferred the felt on the street. made a detailed side-by-side in a similar old thread but can't seem to find it now.

Yeah, this is like buying a sports car as a grocery-getter or commuter car. They will be fast and fun, and look good, but will be a tad uncomfortable. Cool if you are into that.

Hey, I drive a VW R32 (race seats, sport suspension, etc...) and I've ridden Pista Concepts on the street. So, I dig that style and I'll take the speed, agility, and stiffness and not care about having more comfort.

I'm just letting you know what you are in for.

Naw. I sold my last (of 4) Concept to Prolly like 2 years ago. I'm riding carbon fiber now, but only on the track.

You want to know which bike is better for riding in the city. The answer is neither. Aluminum frame, super tight geo, carbon fork. Really don't think one will be any better than the other for that use. I wouldn't really hesitate to do the same, but just don't fool yourself...both will be uncomfortable, twitchy, and thief-magnets.
