Anyone know of a specific manufacturer or bike model that makes a HT 29er for tall riders with disproportionately long legs?
I am 6' 3" with a 36" inseam -- tall but not freakishly tall -- but on most manufacturers XL size bikes, I have to adjust the seat so high that my center of gravity it too high. I end up sitting over the bike, which makes serious XC riding a little challenging.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Specialized? I have a long torso and shorter legs at 6'1. I rode a Specialized 29er and it was all wrong for me, but since you're set up differently it may work for you.

Specialized is on my short list just because they make a 23" model, although the top tube seems pretty long at 670mm. Plus they use a 90mm stem so it is a little harder to adjust sizes.
Part of the problem is that my LBS that carries Specialized does not stock XL 29ers, like most other LBS, so it is strictly special order, no test rides. That dealer said they'd go with a 21 or a 23 and then fiddle with the stem to get a better fit.
Plus I would prefer to go with a smaller manufactuer -- I think too many of the big manufacturer spec their products on the cheap side for the price you pay.

I have a friend that's 6 foot with 36 inch inseam. Really hard to fit his body. he likes the feel of the fisher hi-fi 29er.
