Pacific Northwest - One day to ride in Seattle

I'm visiting Seattle for the first time next week and my only free day for riding is wednesday, 7/22.

I am looking for suggestions on group rides, or easy to navigate routes showing off the city or environs?
(I generally ride abt. 15MPH and would do ≤80 miles)

I would also be looking for a bike shop that could rent a decent road/all-rounder for the day. (I'd bring pedals, saddle)

Lots of highlights in this ride.

If you then crossed over the I90 bike path and did a loop around Mercer Island you'd be a bit over 80 miles.

For a little exercise (vs. more), I always recommend the Birke-Gilman Trail to Sammamish River Trail to the RedHook Brewery. It's flat, follows the shoreline of Lake Washington behind the houses along the lakeshore, of course, and sometimes you can see the Cascades. Not sure the mileage (30-ish RT?). Enjoy the outdoor patio, eat a snack (or meal, they have options), if you drink have a beer, and ride back to Seattle the way you came. Ride past the Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville, the next over-pass is where you get off the trail. To the right is RedHook Brewery, not the first drive from the trail.

I like beer.

I don't think many local shops rent road bikes, but I believe Montlake Cycles(?) does. Enjoy!

Recycled Cycles rents bikes, and they are just a couple of blocks from the Burke Gilman trail.

They can give you all the info on the Burke and Sam River trail, too. From there to the brewerey is about 20 miles, I'd guess (not sure, really). The Burke is okay, the Sam River is better. Might get some views of Mount Rainier there. I'd say go past the Brewerey on the Samamish River trail first, then turn around and come back and hit it on your way back to the shop, if you want a longer ride.

Here's a map of the route from Recycled Cycles to Marymoor Park, via the Red Hook Brewery on the Burke Gilman and Samamish River Trails, round trip 58 miles. The Brewery is at the 18 mile mark, labeled as an aid station (a little white cross). The address is

NE 145th Street, Woodinville, WA.

I think 145th is an overpass over the bike trail. Just ask people on the trail... I've had people stop me and ask me how to get there before. (Truth is, I don't know. I just know it's near there.)
