I am pretty new to this biking thing. I just found a Nishiki Prestige road bike for $175. Does anybody know if it's worth that much? Are they good bikes? I am training for a spring triathlon and possibly will start training for the MS150. I really don't want to invest much, but at the same time I don't want to get something that's going to break down in 2 weeks. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You can usually tell if a bike will break down on you just by a test ride. I think that is over priced. Your best bet is to hit up thrift stores/garage sales. I have even bought better bikes on Ebay for less. That or just offer less and see if they are interested. My first bike was a 60 dollar Bianchi. Good luck!

The C&V forum could probably tell you tons about this bike.
