Hi. My name is Grayson Peddie and I'm hearing and visual impaired. Temporarily, I'm living in Altha, FL (I once lived in my apartment in Tallahassee, but wanted to stay in mom's house in Altha just for couple of months before I move to Orlando). I'm currently a student and will be transferring from Tallahassee Community College to Valencia Community College in Orlando. I'm majoring in Computer Science with Associates in Science degree (Computer Programming and Analysis) and plan to be a game developer (game programmer with physics that I really hope to take).
One of my favorite hobbies is play video games. My favorite genre is Eastern RPG (like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire, Dragon Warrior, etc.) and I'm not that good at Western RPG (Neverwinter Nights, Diablo, etc.) due to not liking to play games with my mouse for movements and that I always prefer arrow keys instead of WSAD for movements as I'm not comfortable with WSAD + mouse for movements (it felt kind of unnatural to me). I also like FPS (again, not comfortable with WSAD+mouse for movement), racing, space combat, etc. but eastern RPG always belong in my heart. One of my favorites for eastern RPG is Final Fantasy IV, VI, VIII, X, and Chrono Trigger (my favorite characters are Rydia, Terra, Squall, Yuna, and Crono).
I like watching movies (I like Disney and Studio Ghibli) using Netflix, I watch a little bit of television (only locals with my OTA antenna and I do record TV shows to my Vista MCE PC), listen to music (Live365.com) and that's about it with computer stuff. (Note: If anyone wants to get into more anything technical about electronics, then read on.) I do use home automation for controlling lights with Insteon (www.insteon.net) and I have Elk M1 Gold for use with announcing time every hour, schedule timers for home lighting, use it as a telephone ringer from VoIP (I use CallCentric.com), and I also hacked a $15 wireless doorbell to hook up with the analog zone. Instead of hearing a chime from a wireless doorbell receiver, it sends voltages to Elk M1 Gold, which when the voltage drops, it notifies me via two beeps with my recorded voice "your visitor has arrived." When the voltage raises back to normal, this is when the system repeats it one more time, so as to make sure I don't get any false notification due to voltage fluctuation (+/-0.01 to 0.02 volts).
Now about bikes/trikes: The tricycle that I'm planning to get is a Trifecta One-Speed Adult Folding Tricycle (around Christmas time) and I'll be using it as primary means of transportation. The reason why I prefer a tricycle is because I don't like balancing; even if I were to take a bicycle handling course, I'll only be concentrating on balancing and will have a bit of trouble signaling. I took my time to read Florida Bicycle and Law Enforcement handbook from Florida Bicycle Association, plus I read about avoiding avoiding bicycle collisons. I always try to educate myself.
So anyway, please welcome me to the forum!
