Hello fellow clydes, i've got a strange noise that occurs once in a while, after coasting, when i start pedaling it's like the crank misses a beat...Click, i checked the crank and BB and they seem fine, the chain is tight enough and as not stretched... 105 BB Hollotech with Shimano chain...
Thanks!

If it is the hub, all is not lost though, take the wheel off, turn the axle and see where the gap is between the part that moves and doesn't move where the cogs are attached, set down the wheel cog side up, on some paper or a thick rag so that you don't get oil everywhere. Use oil like Phil's Tenacious Oil, or even chain wet lube will usually do, wipe off any dirt in the area around the gap, careful not to push dirt into the gap, now get as much oil as you can into that gap. Turn the axle a few times to help the oil work it's way in, this should flush things out and lube the sticking pawl. You will get oil coming out in a few places, which is the reason for the paper or rag. Let it sit until it stops dripping, then wipe off any excess. If that doesn't fix it, you need to service the hub. If your mechanically handy, it's not that hard, get a book on bicycle repair and see if it's something you want to tackle.

It's a good idea for everyone to have a book on bicycle repair, whether you repair your own bicycle or not. If you know what a job entails, then your less likely to freak out:eek: at the cost of doing it.
