so i am very new to fg bikes and my friend recently built me one, i really love it, but i cant figure out how to lean forward and slide, i think it may have to do with my fork. i feel like i cant get enough leverage off my back wheel...what do you think? could i be able to learn on this bike?

To slide you need foot retention. Zipties or twine works.

You need to steal a plastic McDonald's tray. Lock your rear wheel as it rolls over the tray. Trust me....you'll slide.

I have no words for this.

Thank you.

among the abuse there's some actual advice here. Get foot retention. Brakeless without foot retention is for idiots. You'll die and everyone will look down on you for making a moronic choice in bike setup

ha yeah, my friend wanted a project of making a fg bike. so he bought this wind bike frame at a pawn shop for 15 bucks. velocity rims and dimension hubs

It's twice easier to skid with foot retention. Not to mention it will help keep you alive while you're rocking brakeless and a newb at that. Plus that fork is not very skid friendly.

I like it, no foot retention and no brakes either

you can skid on any bike just learn how to lock up your legs...foot retention will save your knees but start out practicing on something really slick like wet grass if you dont mind gettin those deep v's dirty

Also, this is obviously bait, and you all are suckers.
Kind, but foolish people.

do yourself a favor and get a front brake installed while you're learning how to skid.

I wish my bike had a wheelbase similar to this bike. Even longer perhaps

Non-snarky:
Get toe clips and straps, or a brake. At least one or the other. It's really not efficient, smart, safe, or make-you-look-like-you-know-what-you're-doing-ish to ride a brakeless bike with no foot retention.
This will keep you alive by allowing you to stop in a controlled, expedient, non-crashing manner. Try stopping on a dime with your bike set up the way it is; I guarantee you'll need at least a half a block to stop from full speed.
Also, foot retention will allow you to skid properly. You need to be able to lift up on the front foot while pressing down with the rear foot. (If you see someone skidding without foot retention or brakes, then you can safely assume that their gearing is waaay lower than yours.)

Now, do something to convince me that I haven't wasted my breath and/or been nice to you for no reason. Grouchgrouchgrouch.

skidding adds to the cool factor of having a fixed gear. Go spend 20 bucks and grab some toe clips and since your new to a fixed gear i suggest grabbing a front brake because nothing is more epic lulz than getting hit by a car cause you cant stop
