I came across these through Qbike:

Anyone use these? I found them for $50 off and was thinking of picking these up over an ebay'd set of deep-V's. I'm trying to get a new wheel set around or under $200 and so far I'm looking at these, Weinmann's, and Deep-V's.

I had a set (bought them from Ben's cycle) on my fixed gear for about 6 months. Never had any problems with them. The black bladed spokes, black hubs, and somewhat deep black rims are a cool combo for a pretty decent price. Nothing too special but they stayed true for me (5'4" female though haha).

The only thing I did notice was that after a winter of riding (although I did clean the bike well from salt/grit) the rims showed a very fine crackling pattern, especially near the nipples. Hard to say if this was just the top finish layer, or if problematic deeper cracks in the actual rims would have developed later. Maybe someone else can chime in with regards to whether or not they noticed this on their Vuelta Pista wheelset.

those are quite frequently on ebay for cheap as well
(I don't know anything about the wheels though)

The logos would drive me nuts. I'd personally pick up a set of weinmanns. Lot of colors to choose from and you're basically getting the same rim/hub specs without the gaudy logo

I love the logos actually, looks sorta like the American Classic logo. :D

The logos are easily removable. I have a set, but have yet to ride them.

Didn't realize it had bladed spokes, that's pretty cool. Like the radially laced front too. If the decals are easily removable, then that's a non-issue. It even come swith a 15t cog and lockring.

Not bad for $165 shipped, imo.

I'd be interested to know more about the cracking issue. Anyone else have any thoughts on the quality?

EDIT: thanks for the ebay link, $165 is even better than I was expecting to pay!

much better than DP18s IMO. Vuelta is not a great brand, but for the price you can't really complain. For less than those, you could get a set of Mavic CXP22+formulas which are a much better wheel. You're not getting the bladed spokes or radial laced front wheel but who gives a ****.

We have sold a bunch of them and never had one come back on return. Comes with 2 cogs & lockrings, sealed bearing, bladed spokes. They seem great to me- a lot higher quality than a weinmann or even deep-v. We have some pairs left that we would love to move out cheap if anyone wants to try them- just pm me.

Don't be fooled, The pista and Corsa rims are the EXACT same, just different stickers. Besides, Track specific rims are never machined for breaks.

How can you say that with such certainty? The machined sidewalls look the same, but spoke count on the Corsa rim is 20F 24R, while the Pista is 32F 36R. Oh, and different hubs of course.
