Foo - Are Performance Bikes and Bike Nashbar the same people?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Sounds like a silly question, but their websites look really similar and they have similar prices on a lot of things. Performance has rubbed me the wrong way, so I'm determined not to shop there again...so I was wondering if Nashbar was in the clear or if I had to find a new, undiscovered online bike shop.
yes they are. One own's the other or some such.

Yes, they are sister companies. But before you buy from Nashbar, you probably want to review this "Identity Theft and Nashbar" thread in the "General Discussion" forum above concerning Nashbar's recent internet hacking problem:

Nashbar has completely rehosted their entire site to an entirely new server set and completely redone their database to deal with that security issue.

They are both owned by Gary Snook.
And for some interesting reading, google his name along with "carbondale".

Sorry Tom, but if they weren't tech savvy enough to not allow it or even catch it the first time after people even told them those actions are far from a fix. Public websites are under a constant state of attack.

A new database is a fix. There are plenty of ways around protection. I could spend a couple hours and get into plenty of internet databases. Doesnt mean I should. Could the web sites have been better? yes, and they are now. But that doesnt mean theyre more in the wrong than the crooks.
I have no problem buying from PB and do so, but in stores only. I simply have them match their internet price.
nashbar is performances red headed step child.
