I'm thinking of doing the Berkeley Bike Club Crit but I don't have a license yet. Are licenses required for Cat5 or do they sell temporary one day licenses there? Or should I just buy a license online now, since I plan to start doing crit races and maybe try a road race sometime too..

Yes, you can buy a one day license. I don't know if it's worth it to buy an annual license--depends on how many races you'd do before the end of the year.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure. I guess I'll just end up buying a license next year since I'd probably do 3-4 events max this year.

We've got some time trials coming up that are members only. Cost of membership until the end of the year is $10. I think they are charging $10 for each time trial.
