I have a Reynolds 531 double-butted tubeset that I'm thinking of selling, but I have no idea what to ask for it. I bought it 25 years ago with the idea of building my own frame, and just never did. Do they still sell new tubesets? This is 531C, the most common kind back in the day, in the original box, no rust. A couple of the main tubes have been cut and mitred already, for a fairly large frame, and I know that'll take off some value. But the other tubes, including the chainstays, are uncut, and nothing's been brazed. It's also got the full set of lugs, dropouts, bottom bracket, fork crown, pretty much everything except the solder. I guess if it's not worth that much I'll just hang onto it-- who knows, maybe sometime in the next 25 years I'll finally go for it (or more likely pay someone else to).

Try the framebuilders forum, someone over there might be interested.

Bicycle Classics sells circa 1974 531DB sets (the earlier equivalent of 531C) for $119 - less if you buy multiple sets. Apparently, they supply some of the builders currently making 531 frames.
Kroozer, I might be interested. Could you PM me with pics?

Reynolds tube set kits were in three basic sizes, the uncut tube lengths suggest the size it is.
For instance, a tubeset suitable for a 24" frame, will not be great to build a 19". And with a small set a big frame cannot be made.
25 years ago is right at the border where it can have Imperial Oval (narrow) or Continental Oval fork blades (like Columbus tubing, wider) To different folk the value is very different.
Many kits had domes and slotted ends for the dropouts, again, depends of the potential buyer.
The diameter of the seat stays can matter, length of the head tube and fork steerer.
The type of crimping on the chainstays or none...
The initial cuts made will lower its value, really depends on the buyer.
