Yeah, I know...it's not all that funny and I have too much time on my hands...guilty as charged. I just get the phil and paul fever every year at this time, so I couldn't help myself.
warning: I guess it gets a bit risque...I don't think it's that bad, but if it offends anyone, I will happily delete or have it deleted for me and take my punishment:
Phil and Paul have a bit too much fun one night bar-hopping
phil: well, we're coming into the final climb of the evening, and
what a long and eventful night it has been. There are only 4
drinkers left in the pub right now; the rest were put into
trouble by that last attack by team Jager, and I dare say that
surprisingly some of the best drinkers have now been dropped,
Paul.
paul: Some of the best drinkers have indeed been dropped, and it
is down to a very select group of partyers. But you have to
remember that we knew going into this stage of bar-hopping that
it would be a a battle of the big boys, and we thought that the
field might very well get shattered somewhere along the way
before the night was over and that is indeed what has happened
now.
phil: Right. Well, as we take in the beautiful scenery of what
is left of the col de la nachos, I am hearing now on my pub radio
that the drunk girl you have had your eye on all night has
cracked and is now going backwards and fallen off the back, Paul.
paul: She has fallen off the back and fallen on her back, Phil,
and what a shame that is because I had extremely high hopes for
her to win the day today.
Phil: yes, well that *is* a shame, and we may not know the full
consequences of that for some time. We will just have to wait and see
how things develop. Well, one thing's for sure, Paul, is that
you have now lost your strongest leadout rider, and that has put
you into some difficulty.
paul: It has put me into difficulty, and I am really finding
myself in a spot of bother, Phil.
phil: Well, Paul, I dare say you should not worry about that anymore
because as we look back behind the main field, she seems to be
recoveing a bit. Yes, she is out in the garden in front of the
bar. She has the bit between her teeth....she's dancing on the
petals now and is closing in on the wheel of that young man
outside...she is really turning a trick out of anger now Paul!
pual: she is turning a trick out of anger, Phil, and digging deep
into her suitcase of liquid courage that I paid for all night
interstingly enough.
phil: Right. Well, it's only a matter of time now. The gap is
closing. And I dare say that we may be too wasted to find our
way home, Paul.
paul: We are too wasted to find our way home is right, Phil.
but what you have to remember is that this is no ordinary bar and
and no ordinary drinking contest...this is the tour.
phil: Well, I have no idea what you are talking about now, Paul,
but I suspect there might be a surprise or 2 before this night is
out.
paul: there might be a surprise or 2 indeed, Phil. But that's what
you get when you suffer, you get results!
