So, I'm partaking in the Bike MS ride this year in Mount Vernon and am new to being the team captain....

So the questions are simple, what is expected of me?

I know I will have to know the route (pretty easy as it is familiar territory), but will they assume I will provide and take care of everyone? Food? Meals? Special needs (tools, etc...)?

Looking for other team captains and helpful hints they can give.

Thanks in Advance,

Can't speak to the Bike MS in Mount Vernon, but the one held in this area or the other charity rides I've been on and been team captain on. The primary function of the Team Captain is recruiting more people to join the group, make sure they've ridden enough to be able to complete the ride, and help inspire them to meet and exceed the fund raising requirements.

There's a Bike MS Team Captain's Guide (http://bikewas.nationalmssociety.org/site/DocServer/BikeTeamCaptainGuide_09_Final.pdf?docID=38672) that may be of assistance to you. While not the same event, the Tour de Cure's Team Captain's Guide (http://tour.diabetes.org/tdc/tcguide09.pdf) provides some other details as well. Between the two of them, you should come up with everything you'd care to know on that topic.

best of luck
