Many here are probably too young to remember him from when he was on the air, but he was a great anchorman. What a voice! Reported on a lot of our history in the 20th century.

Grew up watching Cronkite.

Never liked his style. But then came Dan Rather and you appreciated him more.

Walter was a little too rah-rah for the Space Program. Even as a ten year old kid I sensed that.

But I didn't mind. I was a ten year old kid and I liked space shots.

In our current day of universally available information, it's amazing to think that one man was viewed as such a reliable bulwark of news reporting by so many. "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost middle America" was Lyndon Johnson's comment when he learned that Cronkite was openly expressing doubts about the Vietnam War. RIP Walter.

He was a great newscaster, but now that he's gone, maybe the wind farm projects can move forward in Buzzards Bay. He was a fierce opponent. But we need more sources of home grown power. I was in Denmark and Sweden a few years ago, and was amazed at the number of wind farms all over the place. Time to move forward.

The best his field ever produced.

Good night, Mr. Cronkite.

I like Brian Williams. I like him more than I ever liked Brokaw. Brokaw had a speech impediment. Those other anchors all suck.

It's Brian Williams or F the TV news. But it's hard to take all those friggin commercials for medications on that broadcast. Man does that make you feel old.

Pcad has spoken.

Cronkite had class. You don't always see that today.

I remember watching Cronkite when I was a boy. He reported the news instead of selling it. He didn't have a personality that Madison Avenue later required in reporters. We have lost a great one. That's the way it is.

Goodnight, Walter Cronkite.

wow.

he was another one that people were often surprised to know still was alive. He had a good run.

RIP Walter Cronkite. I know your name, but I sadly did not grow up with you.
