I just picked up an old GF from a friend for free. Not sure what year model the bike is but the serial number is FS91081385. Can you tell the year and frame size from the serial. It has Deore thumb shifters, friction front, friction or index rear.

Out of the few Fishers I own, one is a 1996 HKEK, love that old vintage bike. Go to this site, it may help you find out what you want to know. And if it does let me know. I am a big Gary Fisher bike Fan.

They only go back to 93 on that model and it had a suspension fork. Guess I should've added it is fully rigid.

If the thumb shfters are "Deore", then that would indicate an 18 speed Uniglide drivetrain circa 1987/1988.

If they're "Deore II", then it has a 21 speed Hyperglide drivetrain circa 1989/1990.

Pics would help.

It is 21 speed. Has triple front and 7 speed freewheel in the back. Will post pics when I get it back from shop. Took it this morning to get new cables and tune up. It is a beautiful orange color. The geometry on this thing is different than anything I've ever ridden. It has flat bars, u brakes and an extra long stem that makes it kind of twitchy but fun.

I used to own a 1990 Aquila that had Deore II thumbshifters and it came with a rigid 1 1/4" fork. I believe it was made out of Tange Prestige steel tubing.
