I think he could very well do it the way he seems to improve with leaps and bounds every month. He went from being a prologue specialist to taking 8th place in the Giro (should've been 7th) literally out of nowhere.

Your thoughts?

He must be doping. :D Seriously, watching his progress @ climbing @ this year's Giro was amazing. He has shown that he can be a contender. Or, he could be one of the countless others that show promise, and then just fade away. Time will be the ultimate judge!

why wait for 2005, when he think he can pull it, try it this year

Because obviously he does not have the form to win this year. 2005 is a much more realistic goal.

I'll be pulling for him. I love his attitude towards cycling.

Next to Cunego, I was most impressed with McGee at the Giro. I was just talking with a friend a few days ago about McGee's chances at next year's TDF. With the possiblility of many retirements and the top GC contenders getting older, 2005 may be a good opportunity for him to make a run at it, especially if he's going to focus on it.

He stole my idea. It is my plan to win the 2005 Tour. When I bought my road bike a few months back, I told my girlfriend I would have to train hard the next several weeks in order to compete with Lance. As July 3 approaches, I realize I may have to delay my plans til '05. :o

It really amazes me to here of the goals of some of these riders. Such intense focus on 2005 one small point in time but definatlly so far away...
