Hey everyone .. i will be going on a bike tour of vancouver island leaving from Vancouver BC on Aug 1st ... I'm looking for fellow riders who want a 10-14 day riding bonanza!!

We'll take the ferry to Nanaimo BC, then ride up the beautiful east coast of the island, then cut west through the heart of Strathcona Park - quite possibly BC's most incredible mountain range - and then north 200k on logging roads to Port Hardy. From Port Hardy, we can either hop a ferry to the Queen Charlotte Islands or ride back to Vancouver in a loop.

I'm looking for fellow adventurers, male or female, to accompany me on this wonderful odyssey!

We can do anywhere from 50-150k/day depending on how we feel, the conditions, the scenery, and the wildlife!

Please be in good shape, bring a spirit of adventure, and a bike capable of handling logging roads :-)

you can message me on the forum or by email at SOLOJOURNEYS@GMAIL.COM

Talk soon! Jesse

PS: I'm also organizing/considering a bike tour from Vancouver-Squamish-Whistler-Penmberton-Lilloet-Hope-Vancouver!

One other route you might consider is taking the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and going up the Sunshine Coast to Powell River. Take the ferry from their to Comox and head up island from their. I just did the Sunshine Coast / Vancouver Island loop ending in Naniamo and the Courtenay/Naniamo part wasn't my cup of tea. Traffic is extremely heavey for about 30 km's out side of Naniamo as 19 & 19A come together. Sounds like a great trip but my next one is the Kootney's. Have fun.

but my next one is the Kootney's.

The Kootenays are a blast! If you have the opportunity, make sure you take the road from Kaslo to New Denver.

OP...your trip sounds fabulous.

I miss the sea air.
