I have a mixte that I am interested in selling. The main tubes are straight gauge 531. The paint is very good and there are no dents or rust. I am torn between fixing the bike up, or just selling the frame. Since I have so many project bikes right now, I thought I would see if any BF members wanted it.

I would like to get $100 for the the bike. Shipping might make things impractical. but if anyone is interested I can post additional pictures. The one picture I am posting now was from the seller who I got the bike from.

I would snap it up in a minute if I hadn't bought a Raleigh Mixte a few days ago!

Pfft, sell the Raleigh! This bike has 531 tubing, which is odd when I look at the other parts.

I think this is a case of using straight gauge 531 for the main tubes to give a marketing advantage. The other parts are very entry level -- Simplex drive train and steel rims -- but it is a smooth riding bike. It was an adult owned bike (bought it from the original owner who got it in 1974) and show no signs of abuse.

No offense, but I think the 531 sticker should be suspect.

They did use them tubes (plain guage) on the main tubes along with 2 other models as stated so its legit, I saw a mens purple concorde a few years back at the dump.

On the no offense lines however,.. $100 is waaay too much.

First reaction is to agree, but a month or two ago I was looking at a man's frame CCM that had those same head lugs, and it was straight gauge 531 as well.

Not that I know anything, you understand. If I'd thought the man's bike was such a screaming good deal at $50, I would have bid!

There is another thread with CCM history and T-Mar states that the Concorde was 2nd from the botton and 531 main tubes.

what size is it?

Looks to be a 50cm (20") frame with an effective top tube length of 55.8cm (22").
