Foo - DIY Projection Screen
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I know a few of you have decent home entertainment systems.
Friend of mine is giving me his projector - but of course I'll need a screen now. Any good DIY sources that you've tried out and have worked? Paint vs screen?

I've seen quite a few of the old slide projector screens at thrift stores. Might be a cheap option for you.

There were stories on the regatta cirucuit about a boat that used to show old porn movies on their spinnaker during night races. Maybe you could find a used sail. I bet non porn would show up on one as well.........
Our favorite dirty regatta trick was to keep some old bits of rigging around. Clevis pins and split rings and such and try to toss them onto another boats sail so that the stuff fell on the deck of our competitor. They got to spend a bit of time wondering what had come loose in their rigging and wondering if the mast was getting ready to come down....

Also take a look at lumen labs - Blackout cloth (http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5&hl=screen) They make their own projectors, and have tried almost everything - painting the walls, different surfaces and treatments, different commercial screens, everything.

Kitchen counter laminate. Very well researched to match color performance of more expensive screens. Check out avsforums in the DIY screen thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=110). 10 foot diagonal. $100 at most big box hardware stores or your local supplier.
