Foo - I purged today

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

And it felt real good.
I suppose if I'd done it back in April it would have been called spring cleaning. A couple of times a year I get in the mood to clear out junk and get rid of stuff I don't use any more. I cleaned out a big bag of clothes and a box of household stuff.
Of course this means I will probably go out and buy new stuff to take the place of the stuff I just got rid of. :p
Anyone else go on a cleaning jag every once in a while?

What a coincidence. I purged today too!
Cept mine was unintentional and happened after an unexpected hard climb while racing for a city limit sign. I felt much better afterward tho. :D

Yeah, I go on them occasionally. And I'm about to go on a rampant cleaning/organization/inventorying rampage at work.
i need to. I used to be a major pack rat so it feels very good.
It's especially sweet if you can give things that are still useful away to people who will enjoy them:)

What's this "cleaning" you speak of?

Getting divorced. In a constant state of purging. That and I want less stuff. Easier to take care of.

Why did I think this thread was about colonic hydrotherapy?

Yeah, earlier I was doing some cleaning in the house and temporarily set my Giant Cypress outside locked to the post with a kryptonite cable lock.
Short version, some helpful soul decided that I had one too many bikes and decided that since he had the tool to cut through the cable my Cypress should go home with him.:notamused:

Perhaps, but please...spare me the pictures.
We interrupt this coverage of the Tour de France on Versus to bring you Colonoscopy Live!

Yes, send any pictures to X.
Anyone else go on a cleaning jag every once in a while?Yep. And with an upcoming move, I'll hopefully get to do some real hardcore thinning.
Yes, send any pictures to X.Go right on ahead. I have a filter set up to forward such things directly to Wordbiker, as he expressed an interest in the past.

You'd give up a golden opportunity to add to your brown collection?

If we did a serious spring cleaning, we'd have to rent a u-haul to remove it all. Our basement is seriously packed with stuff, that in my opinion, we'll never use again. I have to find a way to convince my wife to let some of it go. It became quite pronounced when my wife closed down her business and moved everything into the garage and the basement. I'm more than ready to purge :twitchy: Winters coming in a few months and I need to store the bikes in the basement again.

How about stopping by my desk?

On it now :)
I have some cleaning lined up for next week. Only all my junk is going to the trash. I have the computer room piled high of boxes of junk. I do have 2 boxes full of books that I'm gonna give to the bookstore.

I donated about 1k worth of shiz to the local SPCA thrift shop. It felt good. Then I figured
out I didn't have a real way to deduct it from my taxes. Oh well. Live simply.

I moved last month and got rid of nearly half my possessions. The rule, with very few sentimental exceptions, was that if I hadn't used it within the last year, it's gone. What a wonderful feeling.

Yup, I just finished throwing out a bunch of "basement junk," then I hosed down the walls and took a mop to the floor, I get like that sometimes. :)
