Hi,
Can someone give me a calculation or formula to allow me to get my saddle at the right height.
I have an inside leg measurement of 71 cm as measured by my wife when I was standing barefooted.
I look forward to your responses.
Cheers Ian

Try general board or mechanics. sheldonbrown.com parktool.com

There's no steadfast formula of how to get your saddle-height "perfect," but you can start by sitting on it and pedaling backward until either foot is at the bottom of the crank's rotation (i.e., the pedals are close to "vertical," but slightly angled, so to be parallel to the seat-tube). At this point, if your heel is on the pedal, your leg ought to be straight, and if it is the ball of your foot that is, your leg ought to have a slight bend.

Again, this is a broad, generic way of getting your saddle's height correct. Your unique anatomy and inclinations will determine how you make fine adjustments.

Your comfy level matters most. Ride on it and if it feels good, that's your perfect height

Hi,
Many thanks for that, I have adjusted the height so that my leg is just slightly bent.
It feels about right.
