Hello all. The zip tite plastic part of my Trek helmet broke. The only place I have found selling a replacement is Trek's site. I don't want to pay $15 plus shipping if I can find it cheaper elsewhere.

It lasted three years, and I haven't "tested" the helmet in that time, so I don't feel like replacing the helmet if I can find an alternative vendor with a more reasonable price.

Thanks.

Check with the bike shop where you bought the helmet, some of them have a "parts kit" to fix pieces of the helmet, it might be a different brand but might work.

+1 adding "or the bike shop you now wish you had patronized . . ."

You should just replace it if it is three years old and has broke. It that part broke it means the reast might not be holding up too well either. Unless it is a $100+ aero helmet, just get a new one.

I wear a Specialized helmet are you talking about the band in the back of the helmet to adjust it's size? Can you post a picture of it?

If I have never crashed or otherwise banged the helmet on anything what would lead you to believe that the rest (the only other part is the shell) wouldn't be holding up?

Thank you, that's what I was thinking. Is there any chance that the same band from a different brand helmet would work?
