Hello,
You probably get millions of these sorts of threads, but I'm hoping for a bit of help. I'm not a big bike person, but recently I rescued a bicycle in fairly good shape from someone's garbage, as it looked like it was probably a fairly good quality machine in its time.
I think it's a Peugeot PSV10 from the early-mid 1980s (not sure which type, but i think the serial numbers says PSV10L 156), and I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me determine the year and what it might be worth. I've not yet decided whether to keep it&restore it or give it away to a more bike-oriented person.
Frame:
Peugeot PSV-10 double butted tubing with hand-brazed cable guides. Frame made from super light-weight Super Vitus 983 ("braze a main/hand-brazed" is printed on the frame in French and English).
Year: 1983 – 1986?
Handlebars and Stem:
Atax stem and Guidons Phillipe Tour de France engraved handlebars; Peugeot logo is impressed into the fork crown.
Headset:
Stronglight Headset
Saddle and Seat Post:
STAR ??
Pedals and Chain:
Maillard CXC (Made in France)
Brakes:
Aluminum brake hoods and levers; whole brake system is Weinmann 405
Cog/Gearing, crankset, etc:
Maillard/Peugeot; Nervar cotterless crankset
Rims and tires:
Aluminium Mavic rims with Clement Ritmo Italy tires (tires are shot unfortunately)
Hubs and Skewers:
Maillard/Peugeot Helico matic Hubs with Spidel Skewers
Here are the pictures I've taken:
