Northern California - NorCal East. Sunday 7/26

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Considering the likely heat for Sunday, I've paired back the ride I was considering. This one will start at the parking lot across from Karen's Bakery in Folsom at 8am.
We'll ride the following hilly roads: Cothrin Ranch, French Creek, Deer Valley.
Approx 52 miles, and 4500 feet. My pace on the flats isn't likely to be fast. I'm saving energy (and water) for the hills. There is a water stop after French Creek. http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ca/folsom/726124787566424903
Lunch after if anyone is interested.
Who's in?
That looks like a fun loop... though I'm not even sure 2 water bottles are enough even with the water stop after French Creek. Sunday's a no-go for me though, have a safe ride!

We haven't even considered this weekend's rides yet -- I'll let you know if we're in. I'd like to take on more hills, especially new hills.
Let me know and I'll send you directions. It's a shorter ride, so I expect to be done by lunch time. There are a few coming that will be a little slower, so we'll regroup as needed.

Hey Joel,
The CycleFolsom group has a ride starting at 07:00 on "Saturday" at Karen's Bakery and will be lead by a couple of our other co-leaders of the Performance Group. I will not be able to make that ride so I may join you on Sunday instead. I live near Green Valley and Francisco so I may join you starting from there. What time do you think you'll get to that point?
I haven't ridden on Cothrin Ranch or French Creek so it might be good to see if we want to include that on some of our future rides.

Shouldn't take too long to get over there. It's only 5 miles or so. Around 8:30 I expect. That is assuming we leave on time. If you decide to do that, let me know so we make sure to look for you.

Joel, a suggestion...go east on El Dorado Hills Blvd from Francisco, turn left on Harvard and take Silva Road to Latrobe. Even though it is early in the ride, tank up on water at any of the mini-marts at the intersection of Latrobe and Silva before you do Cothrin. You should have enough water to get to the mini-mart at Ponderosa and Highway 50.
VG
VG, that's exactly my plan.

After some debate we've decided we won't make it. Chris's back has been acting up all week and really pained him today. I think we'll take the day off the bike. Sorry to miss the ride -- sprint those hills for us, Joel.

Sorry to hear that. Chris, rest that back and get better!

Will do. Though I do expect to be back by 1 at the latest.
