Anyone have experience with the Veneto? I can get a good deal on one but nobody seems to know about them.
I am 6"0", 175lbs and 50yr old. I want to do fitness riding. LBS says the geometry is perfect (given my age and the fact I want comfortable).
However, I am worried that the tubes are not particularly shaped and so it may not be 'stiff' enough (ie: quick/responsive enough) and that as I get better, the geometry may seem 'too relaxed'. The LBS guy (who seems very knowledgable) says the geometry is similar to the Ghisallo which is an efficient racing machine, just a less shaped tubeset.
I never intend to race, I just want a road bike that is not only comfortable but is 'sporty' as well.
Any thoughts?

Look,
all that jazz is just so much noise. Do you like the bike when you ride it? It begins and ends on the road. It sounds, from what you're saying, like a good choice. To be honest, after you get fit, you can get a hot bike. Right now, it would not be the right choice for you. If you want something to compare it to, test ride a Tuscany.

litespeed tries to get people to buy their top priced models. I have a veneto and the bike is great. Fast handeling and comfortable, and I kick everyone's ass in the club rides too, like Late said, dont believe all the noise, thats all it is noise!

I had a litespeed firenze (one step lower in the litespeed than the veneto), and it was a little flexy-I upgraded to a Tuscany (same level as the veneto, but with shaped tubes) and its perfect for me-but I also outweigh you by 40-50 lbs. The guy I do most of my riding with borrowed by firenze and he is roughly your size and age. He loved it and commented that it was plenty stiff but still absorbed the shocks well. If the veneto fits you and you like it-go for it!!!!
