Hi All,
Well, introductions - Can't say I'm a terribly serious cyclist, but we go away (usually to Normandy or Brittany in France) for a week each year with a bunch of like-minded middle-aged drinking reprobates from Cornwall, where we used to live. I also used to plough about 6 miles a day to and from the local railway station, the the bikes off the road since we returned from Normandy a few weeks ago.
Too many years ago (19?), I bought a Carrera Krakatoa mountain bike which has been my "old faithful" ever since. At the time it was a reasonable spec, but for me, best of all is the frame. It's steel so for a slightly larger person such as myself, you can pile the cargo - and me - on it and it's still comfortable and rolls well.
Sadly the old girl is in dire need of a few bits. If you know where I can get a 73x127.5mm Shimano BB I'd be grateful :) Then it's just a new set of pedals (clicking like crazed photographer), new cassette and chain and she's good for another decade.
Kind regards,
JohnA.
