Mountain Biking - What is a good LBS?????

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I hear a lot of pissing and moaning about the bad service, lack of service,or snotty attitudes folks get at their LBS's so I'm gonna tell you how great my local shop is.
I had an issue with a set of Avid Juicy 3 brakes, the res.seals were leaking. I swing by Syamore Cycles on Saturday and ask owner Wes Dickson about the problem.I did not buy the brakes from him,but he got right on it. He could not find the parts I needed so he put in a call to Avid. They don't have what I needed so they're sending me a brand new set of Elixer 5s to replace the Juciy 3s. Thanks to Wes D at Sycamore Cycles and Avid for taking care of the problem asap.

nice.
my experience is that SRAM and co. are very good about service and warranty.
It is a good feeling indeed to have a shop you really like. Glad to hear the other side of the coin, 66.
Oh, I thought this was going to be a wish-list thread kind thing... so what the heck, here's mine anyway (someone wake me up when it's all over, or if I wet my bed... which ever comes first).
1) Mega multi-level super bike-mall with all the bike brands in one place and a complete line-up of all next years models.
2) A second story dedicated to last year's models all at half price and the stock never runs out.
3) A third story dedicated to trade-ins and also the starting point of a massive indoor MTB track (with real trees and shrubs) always open rain or shine, day or night... rolling down through all the floors... and an service elevator back to the third floor. Obviously a steep ascend track too for the XC crowd.
4) Free beer on tap.
5) Indoor pizza, burger joint and cafe.
6) The mother of all workshops with lovely female mechanics.
7) Stocks a comprehensive inventory of parts, components and apparel which can also be bought through the internet.
8) Guaranteed to never loose money or close down, so the owner is a happy bloke (preferably a close relation or even my Dad)
9) Perpetually giving away free-stickers/decals and swag!!!
... did I miss anything?

I have it very good at my shop also, great deals and service. rush jobs... no problem. If I could change anything, I would like to see more brands available. But wouldn't we all.

If you are in LA area try the BIKE CONNECTION they only sell specialized(yeah let the fun comments begin) but it's a tiny shop with three guys(including the owner) and they are great every bike comes with the life time free tune up warranty and they are really nice guys they always go out of their way to help the customer out, in fact we actually ride together twice a week and I am telling you there is nothing like hitting the trails with your personal mechanic buddies I get stuff adjusted on the fly hehehe :D
