So heres the deal, got my bike a week ago, put it together (I would admit if I had messed up). I greased the threads, put them on the proper sides, and tightened them the proper amount. Well today, 3rd time on the bike the non-drive side strips out. Call up the retailer and they can't do anything and say that the bike shop messed up and there is nothing they can do besides tell me to go to the lbs. I know for a fact I did not so that sucks.

So its a FSA Gamma crankset which I read reviews saying it was bad. Now I guess I should just upgrade even though I have only had the bike for a few days because I don't see anyone covering me with the warranty and I have no LBS to blame.

I am looking for suggestions on a cheap crankset that won't set me back to much (emphasis on cheap). I figure if I have to buy a non drive side from fsa I might as well just buy something better. If I get new cranks do I need to get a new BB as well since this one looks to be paired up with the crankset.

Crankset: FSA GAMMA DRIVE
Bottom Bracket: FSA MEGAEXO

Thanks for the help :) It sucks to be spending just a few days after I got the bike, guess I will put my clipless pedals and shoes on hold

uhm... i would say go to the LBS and ask 'em for something cheap. Otherwise you can check pricepoint.com.

I ride with a set of Raceface Ride XC... that's pretty cheap at 80$.

Or you can buy used... check out pinkbike.com. Some people are selling things in pretty good shape at low prices.

whatever yo do, its a good plan to have the BB shell properly faced and chased; if the stripped adjustable ring hadn't stripped the BB shell threads badly. Its always a best practices thing to do this on any new Frame BEFORE installing a BB. Otherwise, significantly stripped BB threads will be a bear to work for the BB reinstall.

nothing is damaged besides the female threads for the pedal on the non-drive side...
