How often do you mountain bike? Really, mountain bike. Not riding your mountain bike on pavement. I only can get out maybe once a month.. it's a 20 mile bike ride on pavement with a lot of hills, on a mountain bike, of course. I don't drive, so it's a pain.

i try to get out once a week for 2-3 hours. i do have time to ride every day, and I do have a truck to get me to the trails, but I don't ride solo, and my buddies are often too busy/tired to go with me.

so once a week on the mountain bike, six times a week on the road bike ;).

I wanna get an mtb coz I miss the fun I used to have on my old (pre-destroyed) mtb. The thing that's putting me off is spending 15 minutes to wash the bike afterwards. Mmmh actualyl 15 minutes doesn't sound like much... ok, now I have less of an excuse not to buy another mtb. I'll look into it.

I ride my local trails about 3 times a week about 40 miles each time i go. I try to make 2 travel trips a month to places i dont get to ride daily.

What I'm shooting for this year...

May - October : 1-3 times a week
November - April : Maybe once a month

I try to get out at least once a week, twice if I can manage it. The trails are 45 minutes away, so I can't go every day. I supplement with a lot of road miles during the week.

I ride when I ride. When my wife and kids went outta town and left me here on call...I rode Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday morning, Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.

When the fam is here...normally 2-3 days a week on the trail and I'm beginning to do mornings at around 0515-0530 for around an hour or so. About 50%-75% solo riding.

I'm blessed to live 2 miles from the trail head...though it's also a curse. It makes me ride there 95% of the time. When I actually do get away from that trail...it's a good 30-45min drive. (still not too bad, but far from "Epic terrain")

I try for once a week, I spend much more time on the road bike, but find the MTB to be a nice change of pace.

Around once a week, on real singletrack. 5 days a week of commuting.

I've officially ridden 9 miles on dirt this year. The other 1100 or so have been all road miles. Maybe I should stop posting in this forum.

40 miles mountain biking three times a week?

God damn.

That's a lot of time on the trails!

Depends on the weather. Now since it's in the high 80's and 90's I stay with the road bike 3 or 4 times a week with one long 3 or 4 hour off road ride once a week. When the weather is cooler to down right frigid it's reverse, once or twice on the road/cross and off road 3 or 4 times a week.

My off-road stats are similarly meager. Got a day of downhilling in, a cross race, and that's been about it.

Mainly weekends, from late spring through fall. Months of wet winter riding here in the Pacific Northwest make it less attractive to go out and get more wet and muddy on the MTB, so the MTB doesn't get out much then unless I take a road trip to the southwest.

At least once a week for about 3 hrs. in spring, summer and fall. Weekly group rides on Wed. evenings at least get me out that much. Work in downhilling sessions whenever I can in addition.

Depends on the trails;)

We've got a local one that's pretty fast/flowy/fun (the first 2-3 loops) / then gets boring. But you can average 13mph+.

edit: I guess no matter how you look at it...it's alot more time than I devote.

I try and go every other day for about 2hrs before class, or depending on work schdule ill head out around 5 or 6 for the same time. The trailhead is only about a 10 min drive from where I live.

I haven't been riding as much as I'd like but when I do get out it's 99.9 percent trails. Good flowy, rocky, rooty, steep, rolling, dirt.I have got to ride about 5 times in the last week and I'm heading out for a couple of hours here in just a few......

i have trouble finding time to do 40 miles on my road bike in a single day. ... well that's not quite true - I just need to conserve energy for work. I don't want any accidents, so I can't floor myself in the mornings.

LOL I was wondering how this would be interpreted.

Let me clarify. ;)

I ride my mountain bike three times a week if it's not raining, off road, in the mountains, you know them mtnbiker66 ;), and I commute five days a week on the Surly on the road to work. Now that I look at what I OP, it is sort of twisted, heh....

I wish I could get out and mtb as much as everyone here. I still ride it almost everywhere. More fun that my road bike.

Yesterday was my first day off in a month. I'll be riding tomorrow and the next day with a day off saturday then a race on sunday. Then back to every day til the next race... :D

When it rains I ride road or fireroads. When the trails are open I get in at least about 1.5 to 2 hrs every day.

I ride 2-5 days a week (usually 3). Usually one day at my most local trails (about 2 hours), one day at my semi-local trails for about 4.5 hours and one day of epic, all-day riding. I commute everyday (not on my MTB) and ride road when it's all I can squeeze in...or my girlfriend wants me to.

This is the most I've ridden MTBs since the late 80s. Averaging 6 times a week I'd say, with maybe 2 times a week driving to the good stuff meeting buddies. The other times I ride from my house to some mediocre type stuff, guess I'm lucky in that regard, but not as lucky as some of you here living by the killer stuff. Haven't sat on my road bike in 2+ years!

How often do I ride actual gnarly trails? Not enough.
