Hey everyone -
I am getting my dawes SST tomorrow. I will be swapping out the bullhorn handle bars to a 25.4 flat or riser handlebar.
The brake details on the BD site show that I am getting the following set:
Brake Set - Tektro 510A Dual Pivot Caliper F&R
Brake Levers - Tektro RX4.1, Alloy, F&R
Question is:
Do I need a new brake lever? - will these work on a 25.4 bar?
Recommendations for cheapest / smallest brake levers? (but functional)
Thanks again all.
Regards,
CD
It looks like you will need new levers. It's an easy and inexpensive fix. Go to the LBS and pick up a set of either cross levers or MTB levers. My girlfriend bought a really nice pair if Avid MTB levers for $24 and she loves them on her risers. Check the sizes first. Most likely you could sell the levers that come with the bullhorns and come out even. You may even check the trade thread, and get rid of the bars/brake levers if there's something else you need.

yeah brake levers that fit on the end of bullhorns will not work with flat/riser bars. you need to get a pair of MTB levers

Something like this will work?

Thanks,

I think those will work, but personally I'd get these:

Brigs - are these small? Looking for smallest pair I can get (w/o compromising function.)
If you want small the others would be better. The Avid's are pretty big, they are for MTB'ing .
