Northeast - Seacoast Century, anyone doing it?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm in Boston without a car but I'm interested in doing the Seacoast Century. Anyone have extra space in their vehicle? I'm pleasant and I'll chip in for gas. :) PM me and we can work out the details.
It'd also be nice to find someone to ride the century with--I haven't met any cyclists in the area. I'll probably be moving about 17-19mph, so if that sounds like your pace then hit me up!

Have you thought about taking a train? There is a commuter rail out to Newburyport and bikes are allowed at certain times of day, including all weekend, and no disassembly is required. By eyeball, Newburyport looks to be about 10 to 15 miles from Hampton Beach. I suppose depending on scheduling you might have to make lodging arrangements. See MBTA.com.
Amtrak also has the Downeaster, making a stop in Exeter; looks a little bit farther from the start, and I don't know their policy on carrying bikes.
BTW, where are you in Boston and what kind of riding do you do? I'm a year-round commuter from Kenmore Square to Norwood, and ocasional centurian, including training rides, during the nice months, May to October. I am planning to do the Rodman Ride for Kids out of Foxboro that Saturday, Sept 26.

The Downeaster requires a reservation for both rider & bike and there is a charge for the bike.
You can roll it on.
