Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Replacing Cog

So, I have a singlespeed and when i bought it, the person gave me an extra 14t cog. I want to replace it w/ the one i have on the bike currently (which is also a 14t) b/c its looking worn and it's giving me problems... I've been searching on here and google but cant find what i'm looking for. Any help would be awesome. I can't figure out how to get the old one off. Use lockring spanner and turn clockwise to take off lockring.
Use chainwhip and turn counterclockwise to take off cog.

Cog and lockring goes on the opposite direction.

Identify hub then use proper tool: http://www.parktool.com/products/category.asp?cat=4

or go to LBS and have them do it for a couple dollars.

This is what you need to do. If you had the tools, it would take you about five minutes to do. The LBS probably won't charge you much, but you could probably buy the tools for about $20.

This is also a good time to check your chainline if you're having trouble. If it's off, you could fix it by moving a spacer or two while you have the lockring off.

the prob i have (i think is due to the cog) is when i go to pedal hard, sometimes the chain likes to pop off, which obv is dangerous.... lol.

Those instructions are for removing a track cog. What you have is a freehub with a splined cog and spacers. Incidentally, it looks from the picture like you're a spacer short. Does your cog slide back and forth a little?

My guess is that the hub is shimano splined, which would mean you need to FR-5 tool from Park and a chain whip to get the lockring off. You can make the chainwhip yourself if you have a chain tool and an old chain that you don't mind breaking apart.

I don't know anything about it. Google "Coda expert hub" and you'll find a few mentions of it.

That could be from a worn cog, but it could also be insufficient chain tension or bad chainline.

Coda was the house brand from cannondale.

Yeah, it is a shimano hyperglide c. i think i'll go to the LBS and get the tools but ask them to do it so i can see how it's done. but thanks for all the help!
