Road Cycling - Woohoo!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I went on a group ride today!! 5 riders total..It was so fun! I was pulling at 25 mph!!! We did to laps around the base, about 20 miles. On the last leg we kicked it up to 27.3 mph!! Woohoo! We are planning on doing a tour de cure ride for diabetes in May. It's gonna be so fun!
I just read my post, it very braggardly..Sorry guys. I was so stoked.

I read it too. It was, as you say, very braggardly. It was also arrogant and needlessly self promoting.
Congratulations fubar. You are now a roadie. Brag on, brother. Brag on.

Yep... you're becoming a roadie alright. Soon you're going to be talking about personal bests and humiliating your buddies in sprints and on climbs [I do well in sprints; I can't climb to save my life. You'll find yourself looking forward to that weekly seven-hour hammerfest... And then, one day, you'll find yourself shaving your legs.
I may have missed this, but what're you riding on the road?
A Bianchi..I haven't figured out what model yet..
If I could kick it up to 27 mph I'd be braggin too. Way to go!

Hey wait a minute Fubar, I think Shaw is pretty flat all the way around the perimeter! You need to get some hills in before you can get too "Braggity". :D Next year get on the AF RAGBRAI team and come ride the southern route across Iowa. Hold your own with the team... then I'll let you get braggity. And I'll bet you can do it too!

There's a hill(not very big) over by the North Gate. And if you go clockwise it's a false flat. But either way, you're right, it's flat. But!!! It is WINDY!!!! The perimeter goes around the flight line, which as you know, is a huge wide open space with nothing blocking the wind. We were riding into the wind for the most part.

Nope, not yet. I don't have a digital camera so it takes awhile to get pics.
