It was him. I swear.
White hair and flowing beard. Ruddy complexion.
Twice he was on roller blades and then this morning I thought I saw him again in one of those cab bikes (http://www.cab-bike.com) but it turned out to be a different guy.
After passing him I had turned off the bike path to run an errand and then came back to it. He had pulled over further down the path to make some adjustments to his seat. As I got closer I realized his hair was darker and he was a bit younger than Santa (aren't we all). I asked if I could help with anything and he said no but he was happy to tell me all about his cab bike. Very cool. Nice aerodynamics but at 60 lbs not the easiest thing to get up a hill. It's got a 14 speed Rohloff to help with that though. He says it works well for winter riding but can get warm in the summer. The windows come out which helps. He was definitely sweating.
Even though I was a bit disappointed that he wasn't the real deal, it was fun taking a look at his bike.
The guy on the roller blades was definitely Santa. The second time I saw him was the same day I saw 4 guys on the greenway in a paceline all wearing the same kit. Not particularly remarkable except that 3 were on bikes and one was on roller blades. Santa was hauling ass on his roller blades but couldn't hold a candle to this guy.
