Hi All!

My name is Kerri. I am a young engineer from Rhode Island. (Often confused with Long Island by non-New Englanders :p ). Now that I've been at my job for about 9 months, i am getting into cycling. (I used to ride all the time in HS, but do too no fault of my own i didnt get much riding in during college). I have posted a thread under women's cycling looking for advice on a road bike so feel free to stop over there.

Are there any young riders that meet regularly in Rhody S. Mass or nearby CT? A couple of us are looking to get into some regular sunday rides. (Entry level.. its been a while.. )

Other hobbies include skating, running (sometimes) and starting agility with my dog.

I'm glad to meet you and hope to hear from some of you soon!

I'm afraid that many New Yorkers don't concider Long or Rhode Islands part of New York. Manhatan is New York. Geographers can fuss with the detials of all other locales.

I was just being goofy. I can't even count how many times on travel. When someone asks where i am from and i say rhode island, they reply that's part of new york right? :p I would hope that someone from new york would recognize we are a seperate state, and not even an Island. As far as long island... a new yorker would know best. I probably made the same error with your state that people always make with mine. I wasnt trying to offend anyone.

No offence taken; I was joking. You know the old New Yorker Magazine cover that shows Manhattan streets, then New Jersey as a little sliver, and the rest of the country as being about as big as New Jersey. Japan and China are acoss a puddle that represents the Pacific Ocean. You could have the same kind of map; it would be funny. No way could Minnesota be on it! Instead of New York City, there would be the Time's Square sign, that has a man blowing smoke rings.
