I'm becoming a Brad Wiggins fan, even if he buzzed off his cool Quadraphenia haircut.

I always root for Cancellara in whatever race he enters.

Garmin, VDV

But honestly, it's hard not to like most of 'em. Thor earned many points in my subjective book today, as did the Schlecks. Hard not to like a guy when you see him react the way Andy did for his brother. I've never seen someone throw their hands up in third place before!

I like the schleks quite a bit, both good riders and cool to see brothers like that on a team. As a mriners fan it some how reminds of when Griffey sr. and jr. played together. Something about a family effort that I find enthralling.

Besides that wiggins is pretty great-I'd love to see a Brit on the podium again. Jens is a classic, and levi is a favorite of mine- that crash was a real bummer for the tour to me this year.

Thomas Voekler

He isn't the best tool in the shed, but he gives you everything he's got, and he goes for it. He's often in breaks, or trying to get in one. He finally got a stage win this year to go with his yellow jerseys he held for a while 4 years ago.

Jens hands down.

Also Heinrich Haussler, Cancellara.

I am hoping that we will hear more of Brice Feliu

How could I forget DZ... the little mini interviews he used to do (still does?) are hilarious.

Cancellara, Pellizotti, Contador, Voigt, Flecha, Cavendish, McEwan, Popovych, Farrar - I have a lot of admiration for them all, and I think they all add some spice to the pot (ok Farrar seems very low key).

VDV is the guy I'd most like to see do well (although I'm not a blind fan-boy about his prospects), and seems like someone I'd be friends with if I were to meet him. If Garmin had a single guy on the squad who was not cerebral and laid-back, they might be my favorite team. For now though, would have to say Astana - though next year will be an entirely different story.

Favourite rider, I don't know - unfortunately in the past cyclists I liked had the ugly habit of getting themselves busted for doping regularly. ;)
But team-wise I really like Saxo Bank at the moment, I prefer Riis' aggressiveness that even leaves some place for indiviual achievements by far to Bruyneel's totalitarian style.

pellizotti, popovych, hincapie, chavanel, casar. will likely add
feillu after watching his mountain stage win and was
already impressed by haussler before his big breakaway win.
i tend to like the instigators versus the cautious wait & see
riders. unfortunately, vinokourov used to be one of my
favorites because of similar his never say die philososphy.
we all know how that one turned out...really miss the suicide

The hugely underrated Michael Rogers. Was extremely unlucky a year or two back when he was looking great for a very high GC placing but crashed.

Also like Bradley Wiggins - modest, unassuming, approachable and likeable, the complete opposite to the obnoxious Cavendish.

Thor. He's a great rider, a fighter, and from the Cervelo Test Team documentary he seems really cool too. I also like Hincapie, Levi and I think Nibali is going to win the Tour someday. I used to like Cancellara a lot, but he was a whiney-baby at this years Giro.

Major Taylor cause he was awesome and had to put up with a lot of racism and went to Europe and dominated.
Armstrong cause of all he has accomplished and his reach goes way beyond cycling.
Wiggins, because of his new found ability to climb.
Cav because of his ability and his edge.
Pantani cause well he is Pantani. Talk about edge!
I might even put AC somewhere in the top 20 but I think he need more personality and I just can't get past his fansboys!
LeMond for being the first American to win the Tour. He whines a ton but I don't think he lies.

Jens.

Teamwise, Garmin. Really like Rabobank, too, because usually they're super aggressive (Juan Antonio Flecha!), but they haven't been that way this year.

This tour, Hincapie and Cavendish have both been reduced in my eyes, while Cancellara (the Garmin thing) and Thor have been increased.

Lots of good young riders this year, too. The old guard had better beware!

I like Thor a lot. How can I not like a sprinter who picks up so may sprint points in a mountian stage. Of course he was the only sprinter to get in the crosswind break besides Cavendish, whose team caused it. (If he missed that he was all but out of the green competition like everyone else).

But for now I'll put Cavevdish on top. Not for what he has done on the road, but for what he has said and not said.
