Hello, I'm thinking it would be very cool to get some HD footage of my ride. The Flip HD cameras seem very affordable, but I'm open to trying other cameras. Anyway, I'd like to attach such a camera somewhere closer to the ground and where the camera can see some part of my bike in the footage.

So, anyone try anything like that? Any suggestions on how to securely attach a small video camera to the bike, other than at the handlebar?

Thanks!

I use a flexiable camera tripod from REI. You may have seen them around, there very popular and inexpensive..around $20

The Flip has a tripod/screw mount on it. I use the one in the upper left corner to strap it to my handlebars:
