Road Cycling - Good deal for 2002 Lemond Buenos Aires?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have found a new 2002 Buenos Aires on clearance for $1200 in a local bike shop. It has the double chain ring and an all Ultegra drivetrain. Assuming that the fit is right, would you consider this a good deal?
I am in very good health but only a recreational and fitness rider, and quite frankly could get by with a lesser bike if I had to.
Let's see - $1200 for an 853 frame w/Ultegra groupset? As the owner of 2 Lemonds, I would advise you to jump all over it. What size?

Thanks for the input. It is a 57. I am 5'11" with a 32" inseam. I'll try it this weekend.
Thatīs a good deal for a full Ultegra groupset (brakes as well? Good wheels?) even if it is bolted to a trek.

As an FYI - there is a '02 Buenos Aires 57 cm in the classifieds at roadbikereview.com. It's advertised as having 855 miles and in "very good" condition. Guy wants $700. I have no idea if it is the stock Ultegra setup or something else. This one is really priced to go as there are others there that are more in the range of what I'd expect. FWIW.

That's a good deal, but you may be able to do better. I purchased the same bike a little over 2 months ago: Lemond BA, full Ultegra, 2002 model (red), size 53 cm (I'm 5'9" with a 31.5" bicycling inseam). My cost was $999. Check Bikeline's website, they may have some at this price (on the clearance list) and you may be able to use this to move your LBS a little lower. Good luck.

I thought about it and finally decided to get a lower priced bike. I found a good deal on a 2002 Specialized Sirrus A1 Pro on clearance at a LBS. I understand that the flat bars are not as flexible as road bars for longer rides, but they felt fine for my level of fitness riding. It has a Deore/Ultegra drivetrain and 700 x 23 tires. The fit was great with the 58 cm frame. I got it for $700.
