Mountain Biking - Anyone ever installed 700x23 tires on D.T. Swiss Wheels?

I wanted to install 700x23 tires on my D.T. Swiss wheels on my FS 29er. Anybody know if this is possible? I'd like to just try it out before I actually buy a separate set of wheels for road use only.

How wide are the rims?
Measure and use Sheldon's table. (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire_sizing.html#width)
There is some slack on either side as well, IMO.

24mm wide, 32h....you think it's too big? Maybe I have to use 700x25 tires then eh?
Sounds like the rims would be too wide for those tires. I have 16mm rims and I use 32mm wide tires on my commuter bike.

Based on this table from Peter White Cycles: http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/tourtand.asp
I would recommend no less than 700x28 for a 24mm rim.

I'm curious why your first choice was 23c

I want to use skinny tires.

Why not 25c, if 24 is the current width of my rim?

compared to what your wheels are designed to run 28c IS skinny

Any explanation as to why 25c wouldn't fit?
they'll fit, you will just run a much larger than normal risk of having the bead unseat while you are flying down a hill at 40 mph.
Imagine the fun.

I had a bike with one of the 24mm rims on the list. And its rims had a sticker that said that the minimum allowable tire width was 28mm.
Of course, you could try to push it with a 25mm.
