General Cycling Discussion - Illogical desire to wear pink

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am in a bit of a predicament. I am in need of a Telekom jersey. Okay, maybe not need, but I am in want of a Telekom jersey. The problem is, I cannot for the life of me find a place that sells them, on or off line. Any suggestions?
A long time ago, on another forum, I think, someone posted a link to a/the Team Telekom website. If I recall correctly, they sold jerseys and stuff from the site, but unfortunately, I can't find that either. Does anyone else know about this.
Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

You might talk to Badger about that. It seems to me about a year ago he was looking for one too. Don't know if he ever found one but if he did he might know where to get another.
Wanting to wear pink is not illogical, because 1) Telekom is a great team; and 2) I read somewhere that bright pink is a very visible, and therefore reasonably safe, colour. Best wishes for a successful jersey quest.

If you can find one, let me know. I want to ride through Ipswich (the redneck capital of the world) wearing pink. It would be the ultimate achievement of my life (after it, there may be no more life  )

You can try www.pavan.com, they are the authorized pinarello dealer here in Toronto, and I am very sure that I have seen a Telecom jersey hanging in their display window, their previouse website was www.northspeed.com, I think they aalso sell on line

Carry one of those voice activated micro-cassette recorders. It might help the homocide division identify the assailants.:p

I would only actually do this if I was suicidal or terminally ill.

Okay, nevermind. I'm officially stupid.
Through all my fruitless searches for "Telekom," "Telekom jersey," "Telekom Ullrich (or Zabel, or whoever)," and a bunch of other stuff, I neglected to try perhaps the most obvious choice, "Team Telekom."
Searching for "Team Telekom" gives links to both the Team Telekom website (www.team-telekom.de) and the fanshop (fanshop.t-mall.de). They appear to sell all sorts of cool Telekom stuff, but I'm not really sure, because it's all in German. I don't speak German. There is an ordering guide for stupid Americans, so maybe that will help.
In anycase, there's where a person could buy a Telekom jersey, if a person were so inclined. It figures that I found it all by myself, but not until 30 seconds after I asked for help. Karma has a funny way of screwing with me like that.
At the very least, I can take solace in the fact that a very nice and completely unrelated conversation has somehow started in this thread.
If anyone knows this guy/gal, you can ask him/her where he/she got theirs.

To buy a Telekon jersey, check out Jan Ullrich's fan shop (http://www.fan-direct.de/index-ju.htm). They're asking 36 Euros, which is actually a pretty good deal...

http://www.telekom.de/angebot/fanshop/
is the place..
Why did it only take me 2 clicks to find it?
Used www.telekom.de and voila clicked on fanshop.. if you need help email me espi @ dds.nl
If it wasn't that I have stated to never wear advertisement jerseys and pay for it as well, I'd be tempted to wear one. Jan Ullrich and Erik Zabel are my heroes.. they are both very sympathetic and absolutely brilliant cyclists..
I've got a soft spot for Ullrich because of his dieting woes !
Perhaps I should get one.. will annoy all those dutch who insist on wearing Rabobank jerseys... actually I have a vested interest in Rabobank and think our Michael Boogerd and Erik Dekker are great cyclists as well!
Ivana, who's not as nationalistic as many of her fellow Dutchmen and we are far far far far less nationalistic than the Usonians or even Canadians.. but if I had to choose for another country it would be Canada.. love that flag!
Lightboy,
Not sure about the jerseys but www.probikekit.com is selling
telekom Roubaix bib knickers for the ridiculously low price of
$21.15 thats almost giving them away.
For a real challenge try finding CSC teamwear. I work for
CSC and can't find it......
http://world.altavista.com/ is good for translating from
German to english etc. after you get in just enter the telekom
page and it will translate for you. (sometimes the translations
are really funny)
good luck,
Marty

I couldn't find any Telekom jerseys on probikekit (only had a quick browse though) but if you're after a slightly more subtle shade of pink they've got last years ONCE pinks.

From another thread:
"You would like to perhaps do something outrageous or anything that will give you the chance to be recognised as someone special.. This desire has now almost become an obsession and in your own way you are trying to fulfil this "complex" by ensuring you are the centre of attention, both at work or play ... "

FYI Allister, I fulfilled that inadvertently this morning. I was stopped at a red light when some drunk decided to lean out a taxi window slurring "I love you, beautiful". Sorry, dude. If I was that way inclined, I'd be in Kings Cross.

Actually, I can't stand Mapei's new strip. It looks like pyjamas.
Mapei makes adhsive for flooring, etc., and chemical additives for construction materials [hence the blocks, I guess]. The team's secondary sponsor, Quick Step, makes floor tiles. Some other pro cycling team sponsors...

Thanks Weasel, I appreciate that. I think I'll give one (or several, if need be) of the links that everyone posted a try first, but I'll let you know.
