Last week-end our daughter got married. Her husband has a 7 year-old daughter, so we gained a son-in-law and a step-granddaughter. Of course, she was ready for a new bike, and I was only too happy to oblige. Since they are building a house, I knew her parents would be likely to get a toy-mart bike, and I wanted her to have a good bike that was properly assembled (brakes that work, etc.) so she now has a new Specialized Hotrock girl's 20 like this one http://www.velosportonline.com/products.php?plid=m1b1s11p341
I'm looking forward to some rides with her, too bad she is so far away.

Dear Jean,
It sounds like you are very proactive in this new relationship and that is a very good thing. My aunt just saw her son get married for the first time at age 32, almost 33. Her son (ten years younger than I am) gained two kids, ages 5 and 8, along with a wonderful new wife. I told him to be happy he missed the diapers and potty training. My aunt enjoys her new job as "Grandma" and the the prefix "step-" has already disappeared.
I saw the bike online and it looks like a lot of fun.
Maybe she won't seem "so far away" if you can write her e-mail and send pictures back and forth.
Happy trails!
Neal

I'm so proud of Sara, she rode 6 miles today with her dad, and is already pretty good at shifting gears. We are planning a rail-trail ride next month together. I can hardly wait. Thanks for the reply Neal, and best wishes to your Aunt and her family.
