Mountain Biking - 02' K2 Attack 3.0

Any thoughts on the worth of one of these? I found a decent deal on one($200 complete), and would like to give the full suspension a try, just on some light trails, city stuff. Anyone ride one of these before?

General opinion from the K2 riders is that the Attack 2.0/3.0 is a good XC entry-level suspension platform. The front shock could be better but for light trails it's fine. The rest of the components although not anything to write home about are pretty solid. For $200, it's a great deal. This of course assumes the bike fits and is comfortable.

Yeah I'd go give it a ride to make sure the fit is nice. Can probably go take alook at it tonight. Really I'm only interested in the frame, I have a decent hardtail I can pull parts from if I like the feel of the frame. Just wanted some opinions on the frame itself, components be damned. Looks like a decent design though

But for 200$ thats a really great deal. But ya make sure it fits nice. I should have waited for a XL but instead got a large and its just a tad bit to small. Had to purcahse a long thomson seatpost and another stem to make up for it :)

I have a 17" and a 19" hardtail right now. Not quite sure what they would be classified as (Medium and Large?) but the 17" and 19" both aren't bad. I need to make a few adjustments on both of em' (shorter stem for the 19", and longer for the 17"). By the way, I'm like 6'-6'1", how tall are you? I prefer a lil bit smaller frames (as far as hardtails go, I never got on a FS before)

i bounce between 180lbs to 190lbs.

Just to let you guys know, I went and test rode the bike, it's the Xterra Edition (Nissan Promotion in 02') and the bike rides awesome. It's a Large. Theres a few components that need replacement (front and rear brakes are completely useless, and the Judy air shock needs seals). I went ahead and grabbed it. Now there is one MAJOR, and I do mean major problem here. I'm going to have to explain to my girlfriend why I have ANOTHER bike in the house...

Just took it out for the first ride in the city. The Judy XC fork (air) is hashed. All kinds of nasty flex and creaking, wobbles, blah. Luckily though, I just got my DirtJumper 2 last week for my hardtail. Gonna switch the two out, and probably a few other pieces (brakes, levers, grips, etc.) and try and get the rear shock dialed. For my size/weight, it handles way better then I'd have guessed(6'1"-280lbs.). I adjusted the rear shock for more spring preload, and that seems to work pretty well for me, need abit of time to play with it though. For 200 samoeleans, I can't camplain. I give it a 8 out of 10, and after the DJ2, hopefully bump that rating up a couple notches.

Call K2 and see if you can get a higher spring rate coil.
