I want to simplify my handlebar so I consider to replace my left brake lever and bell with a brake lever with integrated bell. Something like this one (Tektro has few other models with integrated bells):

Anybody has good or bad experience with integrated bells?

Is Tektro the only company that make them? (they seem to own this patent http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT7424863)

The Curve SL has that brave lever. It is an excellent brake lever and feels very comfortable. The bell also has a nice ding sound and the lever does not wobble. I wanted to keep that lever when I sold my Curve. Let us know where you can buy one of this.

its ok .... i prefer a seperate bell .. main thing is that the brake lever is pretty good

Thor, are you referring to this Dahon lever?

Are is it available seperatly? How much does it cost? Is it a Dahon rebranded Tektro lever?

I have a Dahon Curve SL with bell in lever. Not as great as it first looks.

Bell is smaller and quieter. Bell flipper can get bent when taking bike in and out of a car, and is very difficult to restore it to new condition.

It seems easier to deal with a separate bell.

My problem with the integrated bell/lever is that you can adjust the reach of the lever from the bar on one brake lever, but not the one with the bell. I've got smaller hands so I prefer to have them adjusted closer.

You might also try a bell that fits on the end of the bar?

I can't find it on their website, but I really love the bell that comes with the BF Tikit... though some might find it bulky (takes up about as much space as a grip shift). Here's a picture...
