Anyone had to fix a tubeless tire yet?

If so what is the trick? Did you use HUTCHINSON REPAIR TUBELESS REPAIR KIT?

I am hearing it is the best

never used the hutchinson, new a guy who used the velox one i think and it seemed to work fine, just sew it up with some dental floss or really strong thread (if its a big rip) glue it up, put a patch on the inside, then cut the sidewall out of an old tire and glue that over the patch (should be a decent sized patch) so nothin can blow out the hole

thats prolly overkill put it will def work if done right

just be sure to use enough rubber cement to seal it all up and its a good idea to bar clamp it down on each step to keep pressure on it and whatnot

if you do have any small leak, stans will seal em up anyway

What kind of tear or punture are you trying to repair? As noted above, a small puncture should seal up with some Stans or other product. If it's a big tear I wouldn't even bother. Knowing that you're on good rubber when you're bouncing through that rock garden is worth the cost of a new tire.

I had a small hole in one of my tubeless tires. It was juuusstt big enough that Stans couldn't fill it. My LBS recommended using a small patch and patching the hole. I did that and haven't had any issues with it in the 100 or so miles I've ridden since putting it on. The patch I used was a generic one given to me by a local advocacy group on a ride :D

cactus thorn holes ect will be sealed by stans, so if you expect lots of thorns put a little xtra stans in, that stuff is amazing,

what i was saying about sewing is for larger tears in the sidewall only, and they can't be too close to the bead, but the meathod i said above does work, and can save a $60 tire, as far as feeling secure on your tires, well thats what the overkill is for lol, the velox tubless patch kit even comes with a needle and thread. But if your worried or its too much trouble, then yeah you can just buy a new tire

Wasn't trying to bust your chops man, When I get out of Cell Phone range, in an area that I could get lost for a while, I usually carry an extra foldable tire in the camelback, I like a Tire liner to cut, for tire boots and of course three to 5 tubes. I just never even began to think of sewing a tire.
How far from civilizatian r u riding?
