Foo - RANDOM Cycling Pictures...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Much like Seinfeld, it is a thread about nothing. Nothing but Pictures (related to anything Bike or Cycling)

There was a thread in SSFG once about bikes like this, and there was an awesome one with a fake disc wheel all decorated, bars wrapped with pipe insulation and electrical tape, the whole thing completely trashed and filthy, but very Mad-Max-cool.
http://paularickert.net/albums/userpics/dcbikes.JPGWow, a few strings of xmas lights, and that'd make an excellent chandelier.

I concur. I used to stalk that bike; it was always parked outside a building at Rockefeller Center and I would walk over and get lunch nearby on nice days just to gawk at it. some days there would be a fat tube AL road bike, same size and set up, no paint, so musta been the same owner (the two were never locked up at the same time, but always in the same place with the same chain)...it didn't help my covetous leering that these bikes - unlike most sweet rides I see - were small enough for me to throw a stubby leg over. Good thing I am an honest man:innocent:

Is that a chock under the rear wheel, or did it just schitt itself?

It's a single speed (freewheel) with a chain tensioner.
That's hawt.
Most definitely; even if it does weigh as much as a Buick.

I'm stoopid. Why does it need a chain tensioner? When I was a kid, none of the "coaster brake" bikes had a "chain tensioner"; or wanted for one, for that matter.

What, no ladder?
*...probably atop the tandem bike, bringing up the rear*

Well I was going to respond, by others have already answered for me. Thanks for the compliment! :) It was a pretty bike, though I sold it a year or two ago.

Oh. Hmmph. Well if the chain stretched that much, personally, I'd just remove a link; otherwise, I'd let it sag a bit. I suppose I'm just slack.

without a tensioner, when it stretches and becomes slack, it falls off. if you remove a link and it's too tight it snaps. Neither of these are good things. Don't ask me how I know....

Vertical Dropouts is stoopid. I'd sooner have VD.

Fail is right. He didn't keep his knees together, or his toes pointed, during the dismount. The judges will likely take a few tenths of a point deductions for that.

yes. but add two tenths for the reflection in the store window.
isn't the whole point of fixed gear to be a cheap bike to own and operate?
I.E. buy old bike or frame with horizontal drop outs and not have to maintain derailers or buy expensive drive train parts...

Won't matter. The Russian judge has it in for him.
