As you guys know I had trouble out of a set of Avid Juicy 3 brakes I picked up for 20 bucks a few months ago. Avid sent a whole new set of Elixr 5s to replace the old brakes. These things are way tooooooo pimp for my well used rig.....But hey,I'll use 'em.

New boxes are gooooood......

Everything in white(Girlscout was trying to tell me they'd be perfect on the Stinky).....

Wow, haven't seen those up close... so nice! Looks good on your spesh... compliments the white lettering.

What are they like, braking-wise I mean?

^^^ Oh, you know . . . like all disc brakes, they're overrated. A good old set of side pulls or sticking your foot in the spokes will do as well. I know because when I jam my foot in the spokes I can skid the back tire.

Isn't that overkill for the little 2-mile loops you do?

Well, we are talking about 20 brakes. What more could 66 expect?:thumb:

Spent most of the day on the bike. Got out this morning for a long loop in Pisgah while the girlscout was being lazy on the couch. Came home, had some lunch loaded up another bike and the Girlscout and got some riding in a DuPont St Forest. The new brakes are the bomb. Super smooth, very quiet, good modulation. Me likey.
